Lineup History

Early History

Human Vacuum was initially founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Grey Hannah, former member Gabriel Kane on rhythm guitar, and former drummer Ben Golliet in 2021. The main lineup was complete when Saige Stittsworth joined as the bassist in early 2022.

The band had a rocky start when shortly after the group was established, Ben Golliet left the band to attend college. The outlook was bleak but we managed to scrape by and practice with another local drummer, Walter Y.

Since Walter's departure, many of Human Vacuum's practices were held in an apartment downtown.

Our prayers were answered in 2023 when we found Ben Silesky (Ben #2), drummer, DJ, and resident of The Mantis House. Ben #2's presence has since enabled Human Vacuum to host effective practices and performances.

Founding guitarist Gabriel Kane's college announcement in the Spring of 2023 came as a surprise to everyone, but life goes on. Not the first time the band's lost a member to the shackles of college.

Gabriel had his final show, a bittersweet goodbye, and some of Grey's belated birthday cake at Rhythms Coffee on August 15, 2023.

Since Gabe's college announcement, Human Vacuum hosted tentative auditions to fulfill the role of rhythm guitarist. Through the decision process, musician and fan Sierra Swigart was selected for the role.

Sierra officially joined Human Vacuum after the show on August 15, 2023.

Where did "Human Vacuum" come from?

It's hard picking a name for your band that isn't too shitty, too cliche, or copying another famous or local band. We had to get creative.

One trip to the Lacey Walmart and a bunch of goofy shit later, Gabriel and Ben #1 spotted a spill on the ground. Gabriel told Ben he should clean it up, and Ben likened it to a "human vacuum."

That's it. We had no other ideas.
